Mumbai-based Author Kriti Edwankar Releases Debut Poetry Book
The Flower That Spoke to Me: Love, Life and Little Things

Mumbai-based author Kriti Edwankar announces the release of her debut poetry book, The Flower That Spoke to Me: Love, Life and Little Things, a collection of thirty poems paired with black and white photographs.
The book brings together close observations drawn from everyday life, shaped by nature, travel, animals, femininity and emotional exchanges between humans and the world around them. Each poem is paired with a photograph, allowing language and image to exist in a shared, reflective space.
The poems stay close to small, familiar details: light resting on walls, trees moving in the wind, corners of homes, passing encounters and feelings observed long enough to be understood. “Everything is poetic if you stay long enough to notice it,” says Kriti. Together, the poems and photographs form a paired experience. “What begins as a photograph becomes a memory, and what begins as a feeling becomes poetry, holding traces of a moment that might otherwise slip away,” she adds.
About Kriti Edwankar
The Flower That Spoke to Me marks Edwankar’s first published poetry collection. She is a Mumbai-based author, filmmaker, creative director and the founder of the production company Pencils & Frames. Her work spans music videos, digital advertising and narrative storytelling. Last year, she directed her debut short film Surajmukhi, which is currently touring film festivals across India and internationally.
At its heart, The Flower That Spoke to Me is an invitation to pause and draw personal parallels between oneself and the natural world, offering readers space to move through the book at their own pace. “I hope readers take something back with them,” Kriti adds, “the way I took something from the flower that spoke to me.”
